The film is about Fiza (Karisma Kapoor), whose sibling, Aman (Hrithik Roshan), vanishes amid the 1993 Bombay riots. Fiza and her mom Nishatbi (Jaya Bachchan) urgently clutch the trust that one day he will return. Be that as it may, six years after his vanishing, Fiza, tired of living with instability, makes plans to go looking for her sibling. Driven by her mom Nishatbi's intense trust and her own particular determination, Fiza chooses to utilize whatever methods she can—the law, media, even legislators to discover her sibling, which carries her into contact with different characters and circumstances.
